Projects
Here's just a small sample of the natural treasures we've helped preserve over the years.
Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, NT
As the 1st Aboriginal Chief Ranger at Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, I led initiatives to preserve and manage cultural and natural resources, ensuring the protection of sacred sites and promoting cultural tourism. My role involved working closely with the Traditional Owners and Elders, providing cultural education to visitors and managing conservation projects.
Woomera Prohibited Area, Kokatha Lands, SA
"This is meant to be a cleared site, we have missile fragments here, we have carbon fibre here. These places should be left the way they were."
"It's very upsetting for us," says Shane Wright, a Kokatha lore man who visited the site with SBS News.

Nonning Station, SA
Nonning Station, located in the Gawler Ranges of South Australia, holds significant Aboriginal heritage, particularly with the Kokatha people.
One of the most important cultural features in this area is the network of rock holes. These rock holes, naturally occurring depressions in the rocky landscape, have been used for thousands of years as water sources by the Aboriginal people.
They are crucial for survival in the arid environment and hold deep cultural and spiritual significance. Preserving these rock holes is vital for maintaining the cultural heritage and the traditional knowledge associated with them, ensuring that the stories and practices connected to these sites are passed down through generations.
